No.7 Hot Cloth Cleanser Review

I've really suffering with breakouts recently, which is unusual because my skin is quite good apart from my t zone which is a bit oily. They've cropped up all over my neck, jawline and cheek so I've decided to have a skincare cull and start afresh with some new products.
A while ago I bought this cleanser in Boots using their No7 vouchers they keep giving me. Does anyone else keep buying things they don't need but because they have a voucher it somehow feels justified? Another BIRNT excuse I fear ha ha

I thought by giving a skin a good deep cleanse it would start to sort itself out a bit. I really wanted to try Liz Earle's iconic Cleanse and Polish but this cleanser seemed to be what I needed. (also it was what I could afford at the time!) I pumped a few squirts of the product and massaged in upward circles on my face, then after soaking the small muslin cloth that comes with it placed it on my face to open up pores so the cleanser could soak in. I looked like an idiot. Fact. Lucky the bathroom door was locked.

After looking like Casper for a few moments the cloth was used to buff and polish my skin. I then rinsed with cold water to close my pores. My skin looked pink and to be honest didn't feel much smoother but it did feel squeaky clean. After putting moisturiser on my skin did feel softer and it absorbed it quickly instead of sitting on the surface for a while which was good. I felt my skin about half hour later and there was a definite improvement in the texture and it looked brighter, maybe it needed time to settle down.
The bottle states suitable for all skin types but I think this would work better on oily skin, it could be a bit harsh on sensitive types. It markets itself like a spa treatment and I agree, I do like the ritual of it as I feel I'm making more of an effort on my skincare regime. I've started to use this twice a week in the evening before bedtime so hopefully my skin should start to clear up more. xx
